What do you charge for your graphic design services?

Prices depend on many variants but you can be sure that the money you are paying is for high-quality, uncompromised work. You will not find that with some of our competitors. We encourage prospective clients to compare Scribble Graphics with agencies producing the same level of work. If you would like us to price out a job for you, contact us.

What is the client's involvement in the design process?

We thoroughly discuss the project at hand with our client from the beginning. We encourage the client to bring in any samples, color combinations/swatches, and ideas they may have. During the design process, the client is asked to approve certain milestones before work continues. At the conclusion of a project, the client may request the artwork in various formats.

How do I check on the progress of my job during the design process?

The client is kept abreast of the progress of their job through our approval process. We present the project to the client at certain stages, or milestones, and wait for approval before we continue work. We find that this process keeps the client involved and prevents any breakdowns in communication. In between these milestones, the client is free to call in to get an update.

How will I receive my design project once it is finished?

A finished project is yours upon receipt of final payment. At your request, we will supply the electronic files to you on CD, or through e-mail. We also keep a copy of your project on file for later updates.

Copyright is yours upon receipt of final payment. We do however, reserve the right to use any work for promotional purposes.

Why is a logo so important?

Your logo is the face of your company. A well-designed logo can go a long way in forming a favourable first impression. Critical to your company’s identity, your logo can boost your public image and give you an advantage against your competition. A professionally designed logo can help establish credibility, convey your company’s philosophy, and help customers remember you.

For non-profit associations and community-based groups the theory is the same. Although their mission may be focused on a specific social issue, community-based organizations need the same competitive edge when designing a logo as they are competing with other organizations for a small part of the public consciousness, as well as public and private-sector funding.

Is it worth spending money on logo design?

Logos provide lasting impression and it differentiates you from your competitors. We know how important having a good logo is to your business, and how culturally aware consumers visually associate strong symbols with quality companies.

How does your logo design process work?

We first discuss the client’s needs, target market, and uses for this logo. We then ask for samples of existing logos that the client likes or dislikes getting an idea of their taste. Sometimes the client already has a design concept in mind. Other times, they have no idea what they want. Either way, our designers make sure they have collected enough information before they begin work. Our logo design service is very flexible. If you would like to see only a few concepts or if you need many, our service can be priced according to your needs.

What are your preferred output file formats?

We can produce any of the most popular file formats – EPS, PDF, AI, PSD, DCS, TIFF, JPG. We will produce your design project in the format your printing house preference.

Can you produce a high-resolution CMYK PDF file that is suitable for color separating and offset printing?

Yes. We recommend all our customers to use PDF files. PDF is the most portable and platform independent file format. We achieve excellent results using PDF files. It is small sized and color accurate, but you will need PostScript Level 3 output device to color separate directly a PDF. The other option is to import the PDF in InDesign or Illustrator and color separate it there.

Is there a chance for the file you produce to have font-mismatching problems?

No. We convert all fonts to outlines (vectors) to assure correct output. Large documents (books, catalogues etc.) are exported as PDF with fonts included. We often export pages as separate EPS files with font included or converted to outlines.

Is there a chance the file you produce to have color representation problems?

It is possible, especially if you were ordered a CMYK TIFF file. CMYK TIFFs frequently make color problems when changing platform (Windows->Mac or the reverse). If you really need CMYK file, we recommend you a color managed DCS (desktop color separation) file, which is much more accurate – in fact; it is a ready color-separated file.In all cases, we will stay in contact with you and make the appropriate changes, if needed.

What are your prices?

The costs associated with the development of different materials vary greatly depending on the complexity of the piece and the production requirements involved. All of our clients are provided with a price estimate, which includes a break-down of the design time and the printing/production costs. If a project requires less than 1 hour of time, we bill accordingly. Contact Ink Waves by for more pricing information and a free estimate.

How do I place my order?

Please follow the instructions on the order online pages or supply a detailed brief via email at info@inkwaves.ca.

What happen if I am unhappy with my design?

If in the rare case, after reviewing your design or project, you find that we have made an error, we will fix any/all errors. If you would like revisions made that were not part of the original scope, we will have to bill you a reasonable fee for the time it takes to complete your request.

Do I own the designs that you have created?

Yes! You own the Copyright to the designs we create for you. However, it is important to note that your new designs may contain modified clipart. If this is the case, the rights to use the clipart automatically pass on to you.
